Hey All~

Hello, I know everyone is busy, but I'm wondering if someone could post the pics of Debbie's Wedding for me! I'm just dying to see!
Also, if adding yourself as a user seems too hard, send me an email and I will do it for you!
Just email me what you want your username and password to be so that I can add you. From then on you will be able to post what you'd like and vote as your own family unit.
Love you all!

Add yourself as a user...

I don't think I ever specified how to add yourself as a user on here under your own family name. I think it would be a good idea so that families stay seperated and we know who's posting and when. Since you all have the user name and password, once you get into the site here is what you do...

Go to the Settings tab

Go to permissions

Go to add authors.

It will walk you through the steps!

Good luck!
P.S. Johnny graduated Paramedic School today! Congratulations Johnny!

We took Jack camping this past week! We were up in the Uintas where it got down into the 30s at night! He was a pretty tough little guy and held up well with all the new things to do and see! We even managed as new parents to not get him sunburned!!!

Johnny graduates from paramedic school on Friday! He has been in the program since January and we are so excited that he is now graduating! He starts with Eagle Mountain Fire Department on Aug 2nd as a full time fireman paramedic! This is a great accomplishment for him and we are all so proud of him!

We are sorry we missed being able to attend the funeral and seeing family in Florida. Because of Johnny's school he was not able to take enough time off to come. We heard it was a beautiful service and we wish all the very best to everyone!

Florida Pictures

Here are some pics from our trip to Florida. Thank you everyone for being there with us!!!

To anyone curious how to upload photos or make a slide show:

To attach photos to a post, once you're into the section where you "create post", just click on the picture under the "compose" tab. It says "add image" if you put the mouse over it. It will walk you through the steps. One of my favorite ways of uploading large groups of pictures is through, you upload the photos and choose any option you want to design it. It's very userfriendly. Then you can share the slideshow on the blog and it walks you through it as well!!

Hope everyone is well, can't wait to see you again soon!!!

Hello to everyone

It was wonderful to see everyone, even though at such a sad occasion.
Grandpa will always be close to my heart.
Thank you Celeste (and anyone else that helped) for starting this site. I hope we can all keep it running. If you let me know how I will post pictures of Debbie's wedding for everyone.

I have a great idea for a reunion, at Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, they have all inclusive resorts, that are fun and safe for families and the resorts will plan all of the activities for us.

Love you all

Grandpa's Obituary

John B. Tani
John Battista Tani

The family mourns the loss of their beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather John Tani. John Battista Tani was born May 4th, 1913 in Rimini Italy. He came to this country with his father Bruno Tani and mother America Tani and two brothers Frederick called Libero and Alberto. He sailed on a vessel named the Duca degli Abruzzi from Genoa, Italy, February 3rd to February 23rd, 1920 landing in New York’s Ellis Island. John died in Palm Beach County July 4th, 2008 at age 95 of natural causes.

John attended Washington School from 1920 until 1928, Isaac E. Young Jr. High from 1928 through 1930, and New Rochelle High School 1930 through 1933. John graduated in June of 1933. He worked as a barber in his father’s shop starting at age 15, during high school, and after graduation while attending City College of New York.

After high school and not wanting to be a barber, John applied for a sales job with Fuller Brush Company. John enjoyed sales. Actually John said it was like being in business for yourself, your own time, your own boss, and no one to dictate to you.

In 1933, after finishing high school, he met an attractive young girl through mutual friends. His courtship with Mary Ambrosio was on and off for a few years until the 25th of November 1937 when they decided to tie the knot. While living in New Rochelle, they had three daughters, Shirley, Jean, and Patricia. Upon moving to West Palm Beach, FL, they had a son, John, Jr..
In 1946, after vacationing in Florida, John and Mary decided to move the family from New Rochelle to West Palm Beach. The family settled in a home on Winter Street in the south west part of the city. John continued to work for Fuller Brush while in WPB, then, as a manager during a one year venture to Birmingham, Alabama, and back to Florida in Daytona Beach for four or five years. When the family moved back to WPB in about 1956, John was a district manager with Fuller Brush, but left Fuller Brush to work for Prudential Insurance Company. He retired from Prudential in 1977. John volunteered as a tax aide for AARP after working for H&R Block during the busy tax preparation months.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Mary (Marie Antoinette) Ambrosio who was born December 22, 1915 in Motta Santa Lucia, province of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. Mary died December 11th, 1984 in West Palm Beach, FL. John and Mary resided at 2065 Carambola Road in the Lake Clarke Shores area from 1958 until 1985 shortly after Mary’s death. John then moved to Cresthaven.

John married Mary Gretchen, a long time friend of both John and his deceased wife on June 13, 1987. At that time, he became step-father to Mary Gretchen’s three children and became known as Papa John to their families.

John was active in the Knights of Columbus, a men’s Catholic service organization until 2004, and had an Honorary Lifetime Membership as a 4th Degree color guard. He also belonged to the Italian-American Club. As a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Palm Springs, FL, he served on the finance committee for 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf until a few years ago and was an avid bridge player and loved to dance up until his death.

John is survived by his four children Shirley Raymond (deceased husband, Ronald) of Miami, FL, Jean Soldo (husband, Mike) of Winter Haven, FL, Patricia Cox (deceased husband, William Lowman and present husband, Wes) of Lake Clarke Shores, FL and John Tani, Jr. (wife, Margaret) of Murray, Utah. Additional survivors include five Grandsons: Michael Raymond, William Lowman, Jr., Sean Soldo, John Tani III, and Christopher Tani; five Granddaughters: Mia Soldo Hanson, Paige Soldo Kaufmann , Debbie Lowman soon to be Debbie Hanifin, Sheri Lowman Escalante, Celeste Tani Weeks; four Great-grandsons: Samuel Hanson, William Tyler Lowman, John Tani IV, Alejandro Escalante; four Great-granddaughters: Lindsay Hanson, Emma Kate Lowman, Isabella and Liliana Weeks; a Step-son: Michael Gretchen of Metairie, Louisiana with wife and three children; two Step-daughters: Mary Kay Mandeville of Hobe Sound, FL with husband Jim and 2 children; and Margaret Hummel of Jacksonville, FL with husband Charlie and son in CA.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from noon until 2:00 PM and from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, with a Wake Service to be held at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 11, 2008 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2892 South Congress Avenue, Palm Springs, FL 33461 with the interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL

Up and Coming!

Here it is! The new family site! It's still up and coming but give me more time and it will all come together nicely. Dad, Mom and I went to Mary's home today to look at some of Grandpas things. We came across a couple of photo albums. We decided to take them home so that we could copy them to a disc for everyone. If you have photos you'd like to share, feel free to email them to me. I'm going to make a family slideshow to go on this blogsite. We can update it as time goes on. Also, if you have any suggestions/ideas, please let me know. I'm really good at navigating a blog but I have limited knowledge in general about computers. I will do my best to figure things out and get put together what everyone would like to see. Just a side note, blogs can be turned into books. So I think it would be great for everyone to keep this going so that we can have an extened family book to pass on to our children one day. It's almost like a family journal with pictures!!!
We love everyone and hope that we can see you all again soon! Feel free to email me at!

Love you!
